This 101-Must-Visit site honours those who served in the Battle of Britain and is dedicated to Churchill’s famous 'Few' who fought in the skies above this very coastline to keep England free from invasion. Located on top of the famous White Cliffs of Dover, the Memorial consists of a statue of a sitting pilot looking out to sea and wall of remembrance that lists the names of all those known to have flown in the battle (check if one of your ancestors is on it).

If you want a taste of what life was like being one of the 'Few' in 1940, we highly recommend a visit to The Scramble Experience in The Wing, opened by The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh in 2015. It offers a high tech, multi-media experience and a wealth of fascinating information and won 'Project of the Year' at the 2016 Kent Design and Development awards.

There is a well-stocked shop with a number of unique items signed by members of the Few, and a first floor café with views of France on a fine day. Tour duration is 1 - 2 hours. Official tours can be organised for a small charge and take 30-40 minutes. The Scramble Experience takes 30 minutes (or longer for those with a more detailed interest).

Please note: entry to the site is free but there is a small charge for parking and for official tours, which can be arranged on request. Ticket prices for The Scramble Experience vary (see below).
