Access by guided tour only - there are strict security requirements in place as the site is an operational military establishment. Please read the following information fully before booking a tour.

Due to changes in the access arrangements, there are currently no scheduled tours, however we hope tours for 2019 will commence soon - more details to follow in due course.
Tickets must be purchased in advance, details on how to book will follow once tours resume (unfortunately due to the strict regulations, tickets can no longer be issued on the day). Please print your ticket and meet at the main entrance gate at 14.10 prior to the commencement of the tour at 14.30. Please note there are no toilet facilities or parking on site.   

The Citadel is an Operational Military Establishment and tours may be suspended or cancelled without notice. Please note, due to the current Security Regulations at the Military Base no photography is permitted and all recording devices are prohibited, including mobile phones, tablets and cameras. No large bags and no unsealed liquids are permitted on site.

All Visitors are required to produce Photo ID (Passport, Bus Pass, Drivers Licence) plus name and address details before the tour can commence. All bags are searched rigorously and in most cases there will be a Handheld, Metal Detector Body Search.  Please allow a minimum of 2 hours for the tour including these entry requirements.
